Ourmazd S. Ojan

Ourmazd S. Ojan is an Of-Counsel attorney with the firm and is a registered patent attorney. He earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and a Master of Science Degree in Bioengineering from The Pennsylvania State University. He earned a Juris Doctor degree from the George Mason University School of Law with a focus on patent law. Mr. Ojan is admitted to the Bar of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania and is registered to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.

Mr. Ojan concentrates on domestic and foreign patent application preparation and prosecution in a diverse array of technological fields including mechanical, electro-mechanical, chemical, and electrical areas. In addition, Mr. Ojan has experience in patent litigation, licensing, and trademark prosecution.

Previously, Mr. Ojan worked as a patent examiner with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and as a patent attorney for law firms in Arlington, Virginia, and Philadelphia focusing on patent and trademark prosecution and litigation matters, preparing patentability, patent validity, and patent infringement opinions.

Prior to entering the legal field, Mr. Ojan was a research assistant with The Pennsylvania State University’s Artificial Heart Program, where he was involved with the effort to find a better solution for compensating for the pressure drop due to emptying of a single ventricle ventricular assist device.
